This novel is about Melissa Miller as she journeys through her first year of retirement. She has definite goals to accomplish she makes a list.
She’s an assertive person and she fights doggedly for what she wants .

She meets romantic interests like Howard a Hollywood dance instructor and Robert a back-home country guy who prefers fishing rods instead of black ties.
Linet a close friend of Robert vies for Robert's affection and casts her magic spells.
A good portion of the novel deals with Melissa’s trip to Russia to trace her roots and the unexpected events she experiences there.

Melissa is faced with the arduous task of determining who is "Mr.Right." Other factors come into play disrupting her wish list. The story ends in the most unconventional way.
I have tried to portray the emotions of people and their different expectations as they interact and get to know each other. Melissa is frustrated by the fact that the men in her life do not always do what’s expected of them. ( Now there is something we’ve never heard of before! )
